You can ALWAYS file a new claim to find out if you are eligible. You may be eligible for a new claim if:
- You are newly unemployed.
- If your claim has expired (reached the one-year mark), even if you previously were NOT eligible for a new claim.
- If you worked at all during your new base year.
Example: You file a new claim the week of Sept. 5. If you worked at all between April 2020 to March 2021, you may be eligible for a new claim. If needed, we can also look at your alternate base year, which in this case would be July 2020 to June 2021. Use our benefit calculator to find out if you qualify for a new regular UI claim.
