Federal and state law says that people getting regular unemployment insurance (UI) benefits must look for work and register for job seeker services. These requirements were paused during the pandemic and are being phased back in this summer.
Your first requirement is to register in iMatchSkills, Oregon’s largest job pool of qualified candidates. The deadline to register in iMatchSkills is happening on a rolling basis. You will get a letter with your deadline. Letters will be sent in waves so our WorkSource staff can best serve you. Your benefits will stop if you don’t register in iMatchSkills by the deadlines in your notice.
You do not need to wait for your letter to compete your iMatchSkills registration.
You may also be required to have a Welcome Conversation with a WorkSource Oregon staff member. The Welcome Conversation is an orientation of the services and resources available through WorkSource and an opportunity to ensure you have a quality registration. Anyone can request a Welcome Conversation, but if this is a requirement for your claim eligibility, you will receive a notice with a deadline to complete it.
Your second requirement is to complete and report at least five work-seeking activities each week that you claim benefits. Everyone getting regular UI or PEUC must start seeking work during the week of July 25, 2021 and report their work search details when making weekly claims starting August 1, 2021.
If you do not report work-seeking activities when filing your weekly claim beginning August 1, your benefits will stop.
